A Generations Old Business in the Heart of Honiara

Set upon a hill and overlooking the central business district, Honiara Hotel is a testament of a close-knit family’s hard work and perseverance. They say that ‘the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’ and this is truly manifested within the Chan family.

Founded by Mr. Wing Chan, little did he know that one day, his own grandchildren would take over the reins and follow his footsteps in managing a hospitality business. Taking over from his father, his son, Mr. Tommy Chan, ran the property for a considerable amount of time before his children took over.

Now over 50 years later, the Chan family are continuing the legacy set forth as the next generation of the Chan family enthusiastically evolves the way it does business to provide their visitors with an even greater Solomon Islands experience.

With the recognition as one of the first hotels built in the Hapi Isles and coincidentally located in Chinatown, the property undoubtedly holds a myriad of memories and has welcomed a great many guests throughout its time.
